Cheers!

New Front Screen technology?

gizmag.com has an interesting article on the Planar X screen. No real explaination of how it works or price... I am more than a bit sceptical on this one.

Can you pass the Citizenship test?

Don't know mush about history? Well MSNBC has a sample citizenship test, give it a try (not to brag, but I got 100%, US History was my best course in school).

Give it a go...

Explaning Bandwidth

Netmore has a nice simple page explaining bandwidth, well... Not really, but it does define some of the more useful terms and standards pertaining to delivery systems.

Kramer VP-413

The Kramer VP-413 is a very small (a bit larger than a pack of smokes) video scaler. It take a Composite or S-Video signal and outputs it at one of four fixed computer resolutions (VGA, SVGA, XGA and WXGA). Got to see it at INFOCOMM and had to get a couple for the AAtronics rental stock to play with. I so bought two! We have these available for rent for a mere $25.00 per day.

We also have them available for sale here:

http://www.avsuperstore.com/moreinfo.cfm?id=5774 for only $276.00.

What a bargain!

Mistakes, failures and other show stoppers

Last week, during the critical "STORM TRACKER 7000 Update" local weather guru, Rick Lantz (second from left) was bedeviled by a Lavalier microphone that kept cutting out.

These guys do multiple shows a day, with some of the top broadcast professionals of the Northwest, yet a simple dying battery was bringing the show down.

Like the pros they are, soon an arm appeared in frame bearing another mic and our noble weatherman casually clipped the new unit on.

Point is, even those of us who work with this stuff everyday, electronics do occasionally fail us. So we prepare for the worst and do our best to have back-ups (as the crack channel 7 team did).
